The Domain of Château Gaillard

The Domaine Château Gaillard is an exceptional and unique site. Built in the heart of the largest nursery on the island, it is now owned by the Hayot family. 

The history of the Château Gaillard estate 

Moreau du Temple's map refers to the main building as early as 1770 as the Audifredy sugar factory. 

Indeed, this residence is the former mansion of a sugar plantation of the XVIIIᵉ century.

Characterized by its typical Creole architecture, it now houses the Coffee and Cocoa Museum on the first floor. This museum retraces the history of these crops that made the island's fortune.
