The Saut Babin waterfall is one of the favorite places for tourists in Martinique. The water from the gorge falling down to the rocks offers a magnificent view to the visitors. The turquoise blue water is as pure and clear as the tears of angels.
For many tourists, the Saut Babin waterfall in Martinique is more than a tourist spot. It is the representation of the beauty and natural wealth of the peninsula. Some even say that it is a glimpse of paradise. As you walk through the waterfall, you will quickly see that they are not exaggerating.
Then take the path opposite, it will lead you to the Crête du Cournan. Take the road on the left to admire the magnificent vegetation of the place. The route will lead you to a splendid view of the basin of the waterfall Saut Babin. For the adventurous, you can take the road to the right to get even closer to the waterfall.
Despite the phenomenal beauty of the waterfall Saut Babin, it is very difficult to venture inside. Currently it is forbidden to access the waterfall. The path is no longer maintained, snakes can bite you. In case you decide to go anyway, remember that the rocks are very slippery.
It is best not to take your children and novice swimmers with you. Several people have drowned while trying to reach the waterfall of the Saut Babin. On the way, watch out for the metal rods. They used to hold up the old steps of the trail.
However, today you risk getting skinned with them. It would be wise to check the weather forecast before leaving. The babin jump waterfall can be a real labyrinth. Heavy flooding can get you stuck. Don't forget to take an anti-mosquito product with you and to hydrate yourself on the way.
The Saut Babin waterfall is located in the commune of Ajoupa-Bouillon. We recommend you to take the coastal road. Stop at Bellefontaine or le Carbet to refresh and rest. You will have the opportunity to visit several beautiful tourist places. Take the opportunity to relax at the beach of Grande Anse :)
Once in Ajoupa-Bouillon, look for the old cocoa road. You will just have to take the N3 going down the commune of Morne Rouge. On the way, you will pass by the church of the Immaculate Conception. Built in 1848, it is one of the cult places of the region.
The church of the Immaculate Conception resisted the cyclone of 1891 and the eruption of the volcano of Mount Pelee in 1902. After the short visit, continue your way to the soccer stadium and then take the road to the left. You will see a small house surrounded by several mailboxes. The road leads directly to the path. This is the beginning of the adventure!
The Saut Babin waterfall in Martinique is without doubt a natural paradise. However, the hike is very dangerous. You will have to be very careful on the way, but the place is worth the effort you will make.
