Rum, History and Nature in the North of the island

What to expect with Simone

I propose a day trip to discover the nature and culture of Martinique.

Departure for the Route de la Trace, in the North of the island. First stop at the Balata Church and visit of the Balata Garden with hundreds of tropical trees and flowers.
Then, we will continue along the Route de la Trace, in the middle of the rainforest, until we reach Morne-Rouge where we can eat in a typical Creole restaurant (I'll take care of the reservation!).
Alternatively, we can stop for a picnic in a nice spot (meal at your expense).

In the afternoon, we will visit the Depaz distillery to discover its history, walk in its garden and its castle. You will discover the process of distillation of agricultural rum and all the tools used during this process.
Finally, we will enjoy an accompanied tasting in the distillery's shop.

The visit of the ruins of the theatre in Saint-Pierre, the former capital of Martinique, and the eruption of Mount Pelée on May 8th 1902.

Return along the Caribbean coast with beautiful panoramas until our arrival.

Entrance fees to the Jardin de Balata included.
In order to respect the hygienic measures following the appearance of Covid, you will have to follow me with your own vehicle.
