What to expect with Clotilde

The Haute Taille dance is an important dance of the 17th century, of European origin. It was first practiced by the colonists of the bourgeoisie, then by the rural environment. This adaptation was influenced by the existing music in the countryside.

The Haute Taille is danced between four couples closed in line and in step. Each couple follows the steps and figures of the couple in the lead (rider N°1 and 2). The dancers must be attentive to listen to the words. The different movements are dictated by a singer-commander who gives the rhythm and the cadence.

An orchestra composed of local musicians will be present during the experience.

What to bring

Take an adequate outfit: closed shoes, a flared skirt, a petticoat, a top and especially a good mood.
